Broncos Bound? Seahawks Coach Sean Desai Withdraws from Vikings Job

The Denver Broncos seem to be the likely destination for Seattle Seahawks associate head coach Sean Desai after Saturday's developments.

Things are heating up for Seattle Seahawks associate head coach and defensive assistant Sean Desai.

After being requested for an interview for the role of defensive coordinator with the Denver Broncos on Friday, Desai has now withdrawn his name from consideration of defensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings, per reports Saturday from 9News in Denver.

Desai, who was also in consideration for the defensive coordinator job with the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins, now seems solely focused on landing with the Broncos.

Former Broncos coach Vic Fangio previously worked with Desai on the staff of the Chicago Bears. Fangio is now set to be the defensive coordinator of the Dolphins and reportedly gave a "strong recommendation" for Desai to the Broncos as the coaching search continues.

The Broncos recently hired Super Bowl-winning coach Sean Payton after acquiring him from the New Orleans Saints. Payton is set to take over a Denver team that had an abysmal 5-12 record this past season in the first year with all-time Seahawks great Russell Wilson under center.

But now, Desai could potentially take over an elite Denver defense that allowed the seventh-fewest yards per game this past season (320) despite the offensive struggles that Wilson and company had.
