'It's Happening!': Seahawks Reveal Details on Throwback Jerseys for 2023
The Seattle Seahawks are heading into 2023 knowing that there's a bright future ahead of them after an unexpected run to the playoffs this past season.
But even with sights set on what's ahead, there seems to be some room to take a step back to appreciate the franchise's history.
The Seahawks had announced in November that the team's throwback jerseys would be making a return at some point. And on Monday, team president Chuck Arnold revisited the topic.
“Yes, it’s happening,” Arnold said on KJR radio 93.3 FM. “We’re excited, I think we’re just as excited as the fans are for the throwbacks. The game won’t be decided until the schedule comes out in early May, but we’ll get a chance."
Arnold kept the possibility open that the uniforms could be re-launched for at least two games, but nothing is official just yet.
“We’re not sure yet if it’ll be one time or two times, but we’re going to have a lot of fun with it as we launch it," he said.
The Seahawks had wore the classic silver helmet and teal jersey since their debut season in 1976 all the way until 2001. Crazy enough, the franchise has had more success in the years since the switch, but who doesn't want to see these iconic jerseys take the field once again after over a 20-year absence?
