The Seattle Seahawks have moved to 2-0 this preseason after finishing off the Dallas Cowboys at Lumen Field on Saturday, coming away with a 22-14 win.

Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith got the start, playing just two series before Drew Lock took over. But once Lock came in, the Seahawks found a spark and never looked back.

“I wanted to show that tonight, not only to the coaches but to the team, that I’m going to be ready at all times," Lock said. "Whenever that time comes.”

After a highlight 48-yard connection from Lock to rookie receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba that set Seattle up at the one-yard in the second quarter, the Seahawks took a 10-7 lead one play later on a one-yard run from DeeJay Dallas. They never trailed the rest of the way.

Aside from one Dallas scoring drive at the start of the second half, Seattle's defense stifled the Cowboys for much of the night. Seahawks cornerback Tre Brown picked off Cowboys quarterback Will Grier at the goal line early in the fourth quarter before the Seattle special teams forcing a safety on the next possession after blocking a punt near the goal line.

Though the Cowboys got one last chance to tie the game late in the fourth trailing by eight after Seahawks kicker Jason Myers missed a 43-yard field goal, it was these two big defensive plays that helped seal the deal for Seattle.

The Seahawks will look to carry this momentum into their final preseason game against the Green Bay Packers before the regular season begins.
