The Seahawks will get back rookie cornerback Devon Witherspoon, who is set to make his NFL debut. He's been dealing with a hamstring injury since training camp that kept him out for the entire preseason and Week 1's 30-13 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

But a bigger storyline might be the absence of Seattle's two starting second-year offensive tackles in Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas, the latter of which was placed on injured reserve this week. Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith will be without two vital pieces on the o-line against a solid Detroit pass-rush that's headlined by Aidan Hutchinson.

According to Carroll, Cross may have a chance to be ready to return against the Panthers in Week 3. As for Lucas, the second-year tackle underwent a knee procedure and a timetable for his return remains unknown, though he will be required to miss a minimum of four games on injured reserve.

The Seahawks will look to overcome these injury woes and move to 1-1 after an embarrassing loss in Week 1.
