Seahawks Reveal Inactives vs. Rams, Devon Witherspoon OUT

The Seattle Seahawks will be without some key names in the secondary in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Seattle Seahawks have released their official inactives list for Sunday's season opener against the Los Angeles Rams at Lumen Field.

Here's who's inactive for Seattle:

- CB Devon Witherspoon

- CB Kyu Blu Kelly

- S Jamal Adams

- OG Anthony Bradford

- OG Ben Brown

- LB Tyreke Smith

Here's who's inactive for the Rams:

- RB Zach Evans

- QB Stetson Bennett

- OL Kevin Dotson

- OL Warren McClendon

- DE Desjuan Johnson

The Rams will also be without star receiver Cooper Kupp (hamstring), but he's not listed on the inactives list since LA placed on short-term IR on Saturday.

Fans will still have to wait to see Witherspoon, the No. 5 pick in April's draft, make his NFL debut. The rookie has been battling a hamstring injury that kept him out for the entire preseason.

It had seemed inevitable, but in a surprising development over the past week, rookie receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba won't be amongst the inactives on Sunday. He'll make his NFL regular-season debut just a few weeks after having surgery on a fracture in his wrist.

"He hasn't said a peep about it, nothing," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. "He's fine. It's been a remarkable mentality that he's brought to it. It's better than most guys that you see. He's not hesitating to do everything throughout the game plan and the preparation and all of that."

The Seahawks will be without some key names in the secondary, but will look to secure a season-opening win over their NFC West rival regardless of injuries.
