Seattle Seahawks vs. Panthers: DK Metcalf, Jamal Adams Injury Update

The Seattle Seahawks won't have safety Jamal Adams for Week 3 against the Panthers, but DK Metcalf should be good to go despite his rib injury.
In this story:

The Seattle Seahawks will apparently have a positive answer on offense for Week 3 ... and a shortened wait for a defense answer, maybe as early as next week.

The good news now as the Seahawks are hoping to continue the momentum forward after their road win at the Detroit Lions from a week ago?  DK Metcalf's injury status will apparently not be too much of an issue in Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers.

Metcalf had been listed as questionable for Sunday due to a rib injury, but he is now expected to play for the QB Geno Smith-led offense.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks won't have standout safety Jamal Adams available for Week 3 as he is still recovering from a torn quad injury that sidelined him for the entire 2022 season.

But while Adams will be missing this game against the Panthers, there are some Seattle expectations for him to return next week against the New York Giants.

Adams sustained that season-ending torn quad in Week 1 of last season. ... and it has been a long road back for him.

But for the Seahawks, a playoff team a year ago who came out of the 2023 gate by being upset by the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1? Some positive health news now and in the coming weeks? And some momentum with another win here? All of that for Seattle - playing today against a Panthers team QB'ed by Andy Dalton (with prized rookie Bryce Young injured and out) - means a chance to keep pace with the powerful Niners in the NFC West.
