Seahawks Cut WR Easop Winston Jr.

It's always possible that the Seattle Seahawks could bring Easop Winston Jr. back to the role he held on the practice squad. But for now, they're cutting ties.

With the 2023 NFL Draft less than two weeks away, the Seattle Seahawks are making some roster moves.

The Seahawks have waived receiver Easop Winston, per reports Saturday from NFL Network.

Winston Jr. was signed to Seattle's practice squad in October 2022. The team then signed him to a reserve/future contract in January after the playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Winston Jr. went undrafted out of Washington State in 2020 after an impressive collegiate career. He then signed with the Los Angeles Rams practice squad before eventually being signed to the 53-man roster of the New Orleans Saints in 2021. He recorded the only catch of his career - a five-yard grab - in the Saints' 30-9 win over the New York Jets in Week 14 of the 2021 season.

However, Winston Jr. still managed to appear in three games with one start during his time in New Orleans, serving primarily as a returner on kickoffs. He returned 10 kicks for 119 yards, which ranked second on the team that season. His 11.9 yards per return led the team.

It's always possible that the Seahawks could bring Winston Jr. back to the practice squad. But for now, they're cutting ties.
