Seahawks Reveal Thursday Injury Report vs. Lions: Devon Witherspoon Back?
The Seattle Seahawks have revealed their Wednesday injury report ahead of Sunday's meeting with the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.
Here's who popped up on the report from Wednesday's practice:
DNP
OT Charles Cross (toe) - DNP
LB Boye Mafe (knee) - DNP
DE Mike Morris (shoulder) - DNP
LIMITED
S Jamal Adams (knee) - LIMITED
LB Devin Bush (shoulder) - LIMITED
FULL
TE Will Dissly (shoulder) - FULL
CB Devon Witherspoon (hamstring) - FULL
DT Cameron Young (knee) - FULL
Considering Witherspoon just logged a full practice four days away from game time, it'd be hard to imagine him not suiting up for his NFL debut on Sunday in Detroit. He's been battling the hamstring injury since training camp, which forced him to miss the entire preseason.
Here's what Seahawks coach Pete Carroll had to say about Witherspoon's recovery prior to Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams:
"He did a nice job getting through it, the work that he needed," Carroll said of Witherspoon's practice week. "A lot of turns, but measured the whole time. We feel he could possibly play, we got him as questionable and we'll see what happens with that. But we got to do long-term thinking taking care of our guys as much as we possibly can."
Unfortunately, the Seahawks will likely be without Cross against the Lions as he continues to deal with the toe injury. Seattle placed fellow second-year offensive tackle Abraham Lucas on IR on Wednesday, making the o-line a major area to watch against Aidan Hutchinson and a solid Detroit defense.
