Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett Short on Words After Loss: ‘I Don’t Know’
The Seattle Seahawks failed their biggest test of the season as they were beaten 37-3 by the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday in a game that might have seriously dented the thought of what Pete Carroll's team could amount to this season.
Seattle was in a confident mood pre-game, but that quickly changed as it was down 17-3 at halftime before being held scoreless in the second half while allowing 20 points on defense.
Even receiver Tyler Lockett was at a loss to explain what happened at M&T Bank Stadium.
“I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t know," Lockett said. "We will have to take a look at the film and figure out what happened, but I’m sure that it’s frustrating for everybody. We will just see what happened and what needs to be done.”
The Seahawks simply struggled to get anything going on offense as the Ravens' No. 1 ranked defense went about its business with aplomb.
The Ravens held Seattle to just 151 total yards, six first downs, one third down conversion out of 12 along with sacking Geno Smith four times and intercepting him once.
Such was the beatdown on the Seahawks, that Lockett revealed the locker room post-game was a somber place to be.
“Quiet," Lockett said. "People just trying to figure out what happened. It wasn’t a good showing at all for us. It was just one of those things where it was unexpected.”
It does feel like the Seahawks were blindsided by what took place on Sunday, but in the NFL, you have to be able to move on quickly. Seattle sits at 5-3 so it is still in a good space, but it will not want the sourness of this loss to linger.
Up next is a plucky Washington Commanders team who will be anything but pushover. The Seahawks will have a chance to take out some of that "frustration" on Ron Rivera's team.
