WATCH: Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker Erupts for Long TD vs. Commanders
The running backs are dominating the receiving game in Sunday's meeting between the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders at Lumen Field.
After Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. took one 51 yards to the house on the fourth play from scrimmage for Washington's first touchdown, Seahawks' Kenneth Walker III gave Seattle its first trip to the end zone on a similar play midway through the third quarter.
Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith checked the ball down to Walker, who beat the defense down the sideline for a 64-yard catch-and-run touchdown to give Seattle a 16-12 lead.
Take a look:
Walker now has his seventh total touchdown of the season and his first-career receiving score.
Smith said earlier in the week that the offense will start finding its groove if Walker and rookie running back Zach Charbonnet get going again on the ground. The Seahawks have yet to do that against Washington, but Walker technically made up for it through the air.
“When you talk about Zach [Charbonnet] and Ken [Walker] two dynamic runners," Smith said. "Two guys that we've got to continue to get them the ball. They’re big-time threats out there on the field, we see it each and every week what they can do with the ball in their hands. So, just getting them more touches, obviously got to convert on third down to keep drives alive so that you can do that, but when they have the ball they're special.”
Walker will look to keep rolling as Sunday's contest treads on.
