The 2025 NFL offseason should be an interesting one for the Seattle Seahawks. Not only is the team facing questions about the future of quarterback Geno Smith, but Seattle has to figure out what to do with wide receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

While Metcalf has been the topic of trade rumors, Lockett is a cut candidate due to his $30 million cap hit in 2025. The Seahawks would save $17 million in cap space by cutting the veteran wideout. Considering the team is nearly $7 million over the cap, Lockett will almost certainly be playing elsewhere next season.

Many have speculated that Lockett could reunite with head coach Pete Carroll in Las Vegas, however, the 32-year-old has been linked to a different AFC West team. LastWordonSports writer Anthony Palacios thinks Lockett could end up with the Chargers, who need help at wide receiver.

"It didn’t work out in the wild-card loss against the Texans since Herbert didn’t have enough talented wide receivers to lead the organization," wrote Palacios. "They could sign Lockett to a one-year deal if he becomes available and see what he could do."

The Chargers drafted a stud in Ladd McConkey last season, but the team lacks depth at the wide receiver position. Perhaps a sure-handed receiver like Lockett would help them get further than the wild-card round next season.

Over his 10 NFL seasons, Lockett has recorded 661 catches, 8,594 receiving yards and 61 touchdowns.
