Which Receivers Could Seattle Seahawks Target on Day 3 of 2024 NFL Draft?
With DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba all set to return in 2024, the Seattle Seahawks don't have any immediate concerns at receiver, which may be the strongest position group on the entire roster inherited by new coach Mike Macdonald.
However, while the star trio led by Metcalf ranks among the best receiving corps in the league, general manager John Schneider has always operated by the mindset that the Seahawks can never have too many good wideouts. In fact, he has selected at least one receiver in each of the team's past five drafts and only has conducted two drafts in 14 previous seasons without picking one, making the odds of him choosing one later this month seem quite probable.
Holding only two picks in the first 100, Seattle likely won't even consider the idea of drafting a receiver until day three in the final four rounds. But with the position being viewed as one of the deepest and most talented in this year's class, quality talent will undoubtedly be available from the fourth round on, increasing the likelihood Schneider pulls the trigger to draft one, especially with Lockett being on the wrong side of 30 years old.
On the latest episode of Locked On Seahawks, hosts Corbin Smith and Rob Rang investigate six receiving prospects who could be on the Seahawks radar on day three of the 2024 NFL Draft, including Tulane's Jha'Quan Jackson and USC's Tahj Washington. They also dive into Rang's annual All-Defense seven-round mock draft via Seahawks.com and break down guard Laken Tomlinson's fit with Seattle's offensive line after signing a one-year contract on Monday.
