PITTSBURGH -- Antonio Brown is open to a return to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and is offering to do it for free, but with one condition.

The All-Pro wide receiver posted on social media that he'd talked it over with family and has decided that a return to the Steelers could work if they give him No. 86. This comes after Brown was irritated that Pittsburgh gave No. 84 to a free agent signing Cordarrelle Patterson.

"Since Jersey # don’t matter much should not be a big deal," Brown wrote.

Brown hasn't played in the NFL since 2021 when he left mid-game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The last time he played for the Steelers was 2018, which ended with him being benched the final game of the season and resulted in a trade to the Oakland Raiders once the offseason began.

He finished his career in Pittsburgh with 11,207 yards and 74 touchdowns, earning four All-Pro selections and seven Pro Bowls. He also led the league in receptions and receiving yards twice and in receiving touchdowns once.

While Brown would probably return to Pittsburgh if given the opportunity - and Hines Ward's old number - there's a pretty slim chance the Steelers welcome him to their roster.
