Cory Trice Returns to Field for Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers got a young member of their cornerbacks room back in action to start offseason workouts.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers look like they'll be able to get some reinforcements at cornerback without having to lift a finger, with injured rookie Cory Trice Jr. returning to work out with his team this month.

As official offseason conditioning programs got underway in the Steel City, the Steelers posted a photo gallery of players back at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex getting their work in and Trice was shown to be participating alongside Jaylen Warren, Mark Robinson, Joey Porter Jr. and Russell Wilson, among others.

Trice, a former seventh-round pick out of Purdue in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Steelers, missed all of his rookie season with a knee injury suffered in practice during preseason training camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Trice went down very early in training camp, during the team's first practice in full pads.

The Steelers have Joey Porter Jr. written in sharpie atop the cornerback depth chart and veteran offseason addition Donte Jackson figures to fill another spot. But they still need a reliable slot cornerback and other depth at the position, so this is a big year for Trice to play his way onto the roster and into an NFL career.
