Former Steelers CB Arrested
PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback and current Detroit Lion Cam Sutton has been arrested in Florida on counts of aggravated battery - domestic violence. The County Sheriff's Office announced he turned himself in around 8:24 p.m. on Sunday.
Police at Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office were searching for Sutton for "about two weeks," according to ESPN, issuing an arrest warrant on March 7. He was released by the Lions after news broke of his arrest warrant, with the team confirming he was at their facility when they learned he was wanted.
After weeks of evading law enforcement, this man has finally made the right choice to turn himself in," Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement.
Sutton played six seasons with the Steelers before signing a three-year, $33 million deal with the Detroit Lions. The 2017 third-round pick played in 84 games with Pittsburgh and started all 17 for Detroit last season, helping them reach the NFC Championship.
Sutton is owed $10.5 million of his base salary this season, although the Lions are seeking to void the guarantee pay.
