PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown's Arena Football League team, the Albany Empire, has fallen into some chaos after the payroll stopped over a week ago.

According to the Times Union, the Empire is currently looking for new coaches, has suspended several players, and has a misdemeanor charge being addressed within the team. All in the midst of their season.

According to the report, the team has not sent out paychecks since April 21, which has led to their head coach, Damon Ware, to step away from the team.

Meanwhile, the team has posted on Instagram that they are in search of a new head coach, wide receiver, defensive back, lineman and backup quarterback. This is because wide receiver Darius Prince, quarterback Sam Castronova, lineman Brandon Sesay, defensive back Dwayne Hollis, linebacker Nick Haag and lineman Melvin Hollins were all reportedly suspended due to an incident on the team's bus after returning from a game.

The suspended players did not receive keys to their Albany Holiday Inn hotel.

Prince currently leads the league with 10 touchdowns after winning MVP last season. Castronova leads the league in passing yards per game, and Hollis, Haag and Sesay are all team captains.

Albany police arrived at the scene around 9:40 a.m. Monday morning for a call of aggravated harassment. The investigation is still ongoing.

The Empire's acting president, Alberony Denis, told the Times Union that the payroll incident was due to an issue with the processor. Denis says the issue has been fixed, and players will return to normal pay.

Another money issue seems to follow a list of incidents Brown has been involved in over the years. Most recently, the former NFL wideout had a warrant issued for him because of unpaid child support. He's also had accusations of chefs, personal trainers and other contractors not being paid after working for him.

The Empire are currently 1-2 this season.
