Better Than Big Ben? 'QB Whisperer' Picks Surprising Name Over Steelers Great
PITTSBURGH -- With Bruce Arians running the offense, the Pittsburgh Steelers found their way to two Super Bowls, winning one and losing the second. Over ten years later, you'd think those runs would leave some unbeatable impressions on the long-time coach.
While Arians likely doesn't have bad blood for those in Pittsburgh, it certainly shocked some fans in a recent interview when he spoke about the quarterbacks he's worked with.
Arians' career has had some true stars behind center. Throughout his NFL career, he's worked with Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Andrew Luck and Carson Palmer. During an interview with Barstool's Pardon My Take, he named the best of the group...
Andrew Luck.
Now, it's hard to imagine Roethlisberger gets picked above Manning or Brady, but there was some sense he'd have a shot if it was down to he, Luck and Palmer. Nope. Arians only spent one year with Luck in Indianapolis and immediately knew he was the group's best.
Arians spent the 2007-2011 seasons as the Steelers offensive coordinator and left with some tension from the front office and the fans. In the past, he's even admitted to being booed during the Super Bowl parade.
Chances are Arians didn't pick his favorite because of the fanbase, though. Luck was the first-overall pick and was believed to be the next great quarterback before his early retirement in 2018. Apparently, Arians needed just one season to see that everything that was said about the quarterback was true.
