Former Cardinals LB Visits Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers have brought in Tanner Vallejo.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers brought in veteran linebacker Tanner Vallejo for a visit as they continue their inside linebacker search, according to KPRC2's Aaron Wilson.

Vallejo, 28, has spent time on a number of teams across the league. A former sixth-round pick for the Buffalo Bills in 2017, he's played for Buffalo, the Cincinnati Bengals, Arizona Cardinals, Washington Commanders, and Minnesota Vikings.

In seven years in the league, Vallejo has played 82 games, including eight starts, and recorded 114 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles. This summer, he spent time with the Vikings during training camp, but was released prior to the season. Last year, he played 17 games for the Arizona Cardinals, including five starts.

The Steelers are expected to elevate Mykal Walker and possibly Tariq Carpenter this week against the Cleveland Browns as they try to replace Kwon Alexander and Cole Holcomb, who were both lost to injuries.

Pittsburgh recently signed Tyler Murray to their practice squad. Vallejo could be considered for another spot if they're looking for a veteran addition to their list of replacement candidates.
