D.J. Moore Joins Former Steelers WR Chase Claypool as Panthers Trade Bears for First Pick

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Chase Claypool has a new running mate as the Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers make a trade.

PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool now has two star wide receivers alongside him after the Chicago Bears traded the 1st overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to the Carolina Panthers for wideout D.J. Moore and a plethora of picks.

According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, the Panthers are sending the 9th overall pick, 61st overall pick, 2024 first-rounder, 2025 second-rounder, plus Moore to the Bears in exchange for the first pick.

As the Panthers cycled through quarterbacks last season, Moore caught 63 passes for 888 yards and a career-high seven touchdowns. He now joins Claypool and Mooney, who had 1,055 yards in 2022 but had just 493 yards in 12 games this past season due to injuries.

Claypool joined the Bears in Week 8 at the trade deadline in exchange for the 32nd pick in the draft. He caught just 14 passes for 140 yards in seven games for them this past season.

The Bears have said they're committed to Justin Fields at quarterback, and while the Panthers move up to get their QB, Chicago is loading up on weapons for theirs.
