PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers inked Patrick Peterson to a two-year deal, but until recently, that's all the information we had on the signing of the 33-year-old All-Pro.

Now, the financial details have emerged, and the Steelers are looking at a $14 million contract with $5.85 million guaranteed. Peterson has said he'd like to play 14 years in the NFL, meaning this is his final signing, and will likely end his career in Pittsburgh after the deal.

Earlier in the same day, the Steelers let cornerback Cam Sutton sign a three-year, $33 million deal with the Detroit Lions that included over $20 million in guarantees. That guarantee is likely what held them back and pushed them to sign the veteran instead.

Peterson is coming off a five-interception season with 15 pass deflections. The three-time All-Pro and eight-time Pro Bowler said during an emergency episode of the All Things Covered Podcast that he's still got plenty in the tank, and doesn't plan on slowing down in Pittsburgh.

"I’m done talking about my age, man, because the proof is in the pudding," Peterson said. "I know I still can ball. I work and train entirely too hard and different."

The Steelers will have roughly $4 million in available salary cap space after the signing.
