New List Has Steelers' Kenny Pickett as One of Worst QBs in NFL

The Pittsburgh Steelers have the worst quarterback who currently owns a starting job.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- Want to talk about low expectations for the first quarterback taken in the 2022 NFL Draft? Well, no one has a smaller outlook on the Pittsburgh Steelers passer than former NFL QB Matt Cassell.

Releasing his list of the top 32 quarterbacks on the 33rd team, Cassell slammed Pickett at the end of the group, listing him 27th. Behind him sits Baker Mayfield, Davis Mills, Sam Darnold, Mike White and Desmond Ridder.

Who's ahead of him? Names like Jacoby Brissett, Andy Dalton, Russell Wilson, Mac Jones and Brocky Purdy.

Pickett's late-season success and the Steelers' 7-2 finish to the 2022 season seem to mean nothing in the eyes of most analysts out there. When looking at the Steelers' current quarterback situation, most continue to limit the ceiling Pickett is able to reach as an NFL sophomore.

Is that going to be true? Well, he currently sits at 40/1 odds to win MVP next season, tied with some of the names ahead of him on this list, like Jimmy G and Matthew Stafford.

To Cassell, however, he's focused on the seven touchdowns to nine interceptions and the fact that the Steelers had one of the worst offenses in football for most of the 2022 season.

All legitimate reasons to be skeptical. At this point, only time will tell if Pickett is being disrespected by those in the national media.
