Orlando Brown Named Steelers Free Agent Match

The Pittsburgh Steelers could find their franchise left tackle.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to preach the progression of their offensive line, but that's not stopping anyone from believing they'll upgrade at left tackle if given the opportunity this offseason.

To replace Dan Moore Jr. in 2023, CBS Sports played a little matchmaker game. They completed the list for all 32 teams, and for Pittsburgh, former Kansas City Chiefs protector Orlando Brown made the most sense.

"This is the AFC franchise that must protect its young quarterback, needing a massive upgrade at tackle in order to get the best out of Kenny Pickett. Enter Brown, the premier left tackle available in free agency," CBS Sports writes.

Brown is a four-time Pro Bowler who started his career protecting Lamar Jackson in Baltimore. Last season, he allowed four sacks last season but none came after Week 15, including the team's postseason run.

"This is the player the Steelers need to protect Pickett -- and the best chance to find a good left tackle," CBS Sports write.

The Steelers will need to clear cap space before thinking about any splash signings, but left tackle remains the position of interest from other outlets. With Taylor Lewan noise dimming, Brown could be the next Pro Bowler linked to Pittsburgh once the free agency market opens.
