Steelers Announce Rookie Jersey Numbers

The Pittsburgh Steelers have handed out numbers to their seven 2023 draft picks.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially welcomed their latest rookie class to the Steel City. Part of orientation to the NFL includes getting jersey numbers, which the team finalized with their seven draft picks this week. 

Steelers rookie numbers: 

Broderick Jones: 77

Joey Porter Jr.: 24

Keeanu Benton: 95

Darnell Washington: 80

Nick Herbig: 51

Cory Trice Jr.: 27

Spencer Anderson: 74

First-round pick Broderick Jones already announced that he will change his jersey number from 59 to 77 in honor of his late teammate from Georgia, , who died in a car accident earlier this year. Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. will take No. 24 and fellow second-round pick, defensive lineman Keeanu Benton will take No. 95. 

According to former Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor, Porter is taking the number in honor of him. 

Tight end Darnell Washington claimed No. 80 and linebacker Nick Herbig will wear No. 51. Defensive back Corey Trice Jr., who wore No. 23 in college at Purdue, will now have No. 27 across his chest and back and offensive lineman Spencer Anderson will don No. 74 during his rookie year.
