Chase Claypool Goes Overseas for Bigger Reason Than Modeling
PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool took some slack for posting modeling images while he was in Paris, France, for Fashion Week, with the caption, "always working."
Only a week or so after reports came out that the Chicago Bears were worried about Claypool's motivation level, the narrative of the wideout focusing on a new career forced reason for concern. But what the former second-round pick was really doing overseas should bring some smiles to fans' faces.
After his stop at Paris Fashion Week, Claypool headed to the United Kingdom to accept a new role within the NFL. The former Steelers wideout announced he worked with children to help them develop in and grow the game of football as a Global Ambassador.
"Thank you to the [Chicago Bears] and [NFL Flag Football] for allowing me to become a Global Ambassador and grow the sport I love," Claypool wrote on Instagram.
Giving back is a major part of being in the NFL, and Claypool has never shied away from doing so. Along with plenty of collaborations with different organizations, Claypool's charity, the Chasing HOPE Foundation, focuses on fundraising for youth suicide awareness, prevention and intervention programs.
Entering his second year with the Bears, Claypool has plenty to overcome following a difficult initial season in Chicago. Before he focuses on a rebound year in training camp, though, he's giving back to the next generation of players.
