Steelers Dealing With Two Injuries Ahead of Jaguars Week

The Pittsburgh Steelers will monitor two players throughout the week.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are dealing with two key injuries as they open Week 8 and begin preparation for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Head coach Mike Tomlin named inside linebacker Cole Holcomb and running back Anthony McFarland will be players to monitor throughout the week as they try to get on the field this weekend.

Holcomb went down with an ankle injury in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Rams. He was able to return and finish the game, but Tomlin said he'll need attention at the early portions of the week. His practice participation and quality of his participation will determine whether or not he'll play against the Jaguars.

McFarland is entering his second week of practice during his return window off Injured Reserve. The running back missed the last five games with a knee injury and now has 14 days to be activated back to the 53-man roster. If he's not activated in that time, he'll be shut down for the remainder of the season.
