Steelers Get Good and Bad Injury News

The Pittsburgh Steelers got both positive and worrisome news ahead of Week 11.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are still worrying about three players, but did get good enough regarding three others on their second practice report of Week 11 as the prepare for the Cleveland Browns.

The Steelers got good news with the return of wide receiver Diontae Johnson, who missed practice yesterday due to a thumb injury. After not being mentioned by head coach Mike Tomlin, the belief is Johnson's missed day was a precaution to ensure he's 100% for game day.

Tight end Pat Freiermuth also continues to progress after returning from Injured Reserve. While still nursing a hamstring injury that has held him out since Week 4, Freiermuth was a full participant in his second day back on the field.

The Steelers are still missing two defensive backs, with Minkah Fitzpatrick (hamstring) and Keanu Neal (rib) sidelined. Neither has practiced the last two days, and defensive coordinator Teryl Austin said both will be a game-time decision.

Defensive tackle Montravius Adams is also still awaiting a return after missing last week with an ankle injury. He has yet to practice this week, and his availability for the game appears to be in doubt heading into the final day of preparation.

Cam Heyward was a limited participant after missing day one. He had the same situation happen last week, and as he continues to nurse his groin after surgery earlier in the season, he'll likely remain a minimal participant throughout the practice weeks, at least for the foreseeable future.
