The Pittsburgh Steelers have conducted their first offensive coordinator interview.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are conducting their first interview of the coaching cycle, bringing in former Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Thomas Brown for their open OC job, according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac.

The Steelers have reportedly requested to interview Los Angeles Rams quarterbacks coach Zac Robinson and are planning to speak to USC senior offensive analyst Kliff Kingsbury. But Brown now becomes the first candidate the team has actually spoken to during the interview process.

Brown spent the 2023 season as the Panthers offensive coordinator but was part of sweeping change with the coaching staff after a 2-15 year. Prior to his year in Carolina, he was the assistant head coach and tight ends coach for the Los Angeles Rams (2022) and running backs coach (2020-2021).

Before the NFL, he went through a long stint in college football as the running backs coach for Chattanooga (2012), Marshall (2013), Wisconsin (2014), Georgia (2015), Miami (2016-2018) and South Carolina (2019). He was also the OC at Miami.

Pittsburgh is expected to interview several candidates before narrowing their search.
