Former Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster Gives Mike Tomlin Love at Super Bowl

Playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers is like playing for your grandma.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have two on-field connections to Super Bowl LVII, and with that, plenty of media attention came about JuJu Smith-Schuster's and Javon Hargrave's past in the steel city.

During media week in Arizona, Smith-Schuster was asked numerous times about his playing days with the Steelers. During which, he gave plenty of love to the city of Pittsburgh.

"Playing in Pittsburgh for five years, I love Pittsburgh and the Steelers," Smith-Schuster said. "But making the decision to come to KC and play, it’s crazy. This [the Super Bowl] is real, I can’t believe it."

Then, he compared Mike Tomlin and Andy Reid, and both of them to his grandmother.

"The feeling I get with Andy Reid and Coach Tomlin is that I don’t want to disappoint them," Smith-Schuster said. "They make everything like, it’s more so when you get in trouble and don’t want your grandmother mad because she’s my favorite grandmother. I go out there, and then I mess up, and you get upset with yourself and make them disappointed. That’s how I feel for them. And that’s why we go hard every day."

During his time under Tomlin, Smith-Schuster displayed plenty of "wanting to play for him" characteristics, highlighted by his return from a shoulder injury in the wildcard round of the playoffs his final year with the Steelers.

It's no secret players love Tomlin and Reid, and their reputation around the NFL has shown that through plenty of current and former players. Smith-Schuster has been lucky enough to have two ride-or-die leaders above him during his NFL career.
