PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers will not get an opportunity to wow former Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams after the former first-round pick signed with the New York Jets.

Williams was scheduled to visit with the Steelers on Thursday after making stops in New York and then Carolina. He didn't make it out of the building after meeting with the Jets, signing a one-year deal worth $15 million, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Steelers are believed to make another splash this offseason, and it sounded like a wide receiver was going to be the move. As for what's next, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac said on the Rich Eisen Show that there could be a "bigger catch" than Williams coming to Pittsburgh soon.

"Art Rooney came out, the team president, after the season and basically said his patience is running thin and quote, it’s time to win some playoff games," Dulac said. "They are not standing pat, and that was a directive pretty much to Omar Khan and Mike Tomlin: don’t be satisfied with 10-7. We need to do something. And they are doing something, and I don’t think they’re done."

According to reports, that catch may be San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who the team has explored.
