Steelers Make Roster Move Ahead of Raiders Game
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers added a running back to their roster for Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders, promoting Qadree Ollison to the active/inactive roster.
Ollison was promoted for Week 2 as well, which leaves the Steelers with one more active game before they must sign Ollison to their 53-man roster. This week, he'll revert back to the practice squad following the game, without having to pass through waivers.
Ollison didn't play a snap in the team's Week 2 win over the Cleveland Browns, despite being activated. The team will once again rely on Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren, with Ollison being a safety option.
Ollison's call-up likely means newly-signed Godwin Igwebuike will not get a helmet in his first game with the Steelers. Igwebuike was signed off the Atlanta Falcons practice squad, meaning he must be on the 53-man roster for at least four games.
