Steelers Rule Out WR vs. Raiders
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have ruled out just one player in Week 3 as they travel to Las Vegas to face the Raiders at primetime. The team announced wide receiver Gunner Olszewski will not play due to a concussion.
Olszewski entered concussion protocol in Week 2 after taking a hit by Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward. He was unable to practice throughout the week.
He is the team's only injury out of those on Injured Reserve: Diontae Johnson, Cam Heyward and Anthony McFarland.
Without Olszewski, the Steelers will make Dez Fitzpatrick active for his first game. Fitzpatrick was called up to the active roster after Johnson hurt his hamstring, but he was not active in Week 2.
The Steelers receiver core will continue to rely on George Pickens, Allen Robinson and Calvin Austin, and will utilize Fitzpatrick and Miles Boykin this week as well.
At kick returner, the Steelers could continue to use Austin there in Olszewski's absence. Newly acquired running back Godwin Igwebuike and cornerback Desmond King also have return experience.
