PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are adding a second defender in the 2023 NFL Draft, selecting Wisconsin defensive tackle Keeanu Benton.

The Steelers used pick 17 and 120 to trade with the New England Patriots to move to pick 14 for Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones. They then stayed put at 32 despite plenty of calls from other teams and selected Penn State cornerback Joey Porter Jr. With their second second-round pick at 49, they landed Benton.

Benton comes to Pittsburgh after four years at Wisconsin, recording 81 tackles, 19 tackles for loss and nine sacks. He totaled 10 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks as a senior.

Benton joins a Steelers defensive line that has taken a rookie in the last three classes. He'll work with DeMarvin Leal and Isaiahh Loudermilk to add depth behind Cam Heyward and Larry Ogunjobi.

Pittsburgh has picks 80, 241 and 251 remaining unless a trade is made.
