Vince Williams returns to practice: "It felt like business as usual."
There's still no knowing when Vince Williams will return to action with the Steelers. After leaving Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks with a hamstring injury, the inside linebacker has yet to return.
For Williams, the goal is simple - being able to play. But for now, he's making sure he's as prepared as he can be for when his number is called. "I just want my availability as high as it can be, so if my team calls on me and needs me I'll be ready to perform," Williams said.
During Williams' absence, the Steelers have gone 1-2, with losses to Seattle and San Francisco. Despite picking up the team's first win of the season, Williams says it wasn't easy watching his team play from the sideline. "It was pretty hard, mostly during the losses," Williams said.
But the Steelers have played well at inside linebacker despite Williams' injury. Devin Bush and Mark Barron lead the team in tackles during Pittsburgh's Week 4 win over the Bengals, and Williams took notice.
"I thought they went crazy," Williams said. "I think they both had 10 tackles, one had a sack one had a pick."
Williams returned to the field for the first time since his injury. A full-participant in Wednesday's practice, Williams says he's working his way back."It felt like business as usual," Williams said. "Everything felt normal."
