Ex-Steelers' Antonio Brown Calls Out Cordarrelle Patterson
PITTSBURGH -- Cordarrelle Patterson is considering a jersey change for the first time in his 11-year career, asking Pittsburgh Steelers fans for their input. But the number he came to town with, No. 84, has a historic name attached to it, and that historic name is making his opinion on the matter known.
Patterson posted on X, asking fans for their opinion on alternative jersey number options. He's looking at No. 10, 13, 18 and 81, but is also considering keeping No. 84. Well, former Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown saw the post and chimed in.
"Only 84 You would EVER C Patterson," Brown tweeted.
Patterson signed a two year deal in Pittsburgh, leaving his next NFL decision to come at 35-years-old. Those two years could be enough time to make a lasting impact on the Steelers franchise, especially if he helps them break their playoff drought.
It's hard to surpass Brown within the Steelers organization. Despite a rough ending, his time in Pittsburgh was mostly spent being the most dominant wide receiver in the NFL. Not that surpassing him is likely on the mind of Patterson, but the association will be there if he keeps No. 84.
