Antonio Brown Adds Pat McAfee to Latest Trend
PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown took to X today, calling Plum-born media personality Pat McAfee the "Cracker of the Day" and a legend.
Brown, since departing from the NFL, has become a social media personality, with 1.8 Million followers on his X account. His "Cracker of the Day" posts have started generating plenty of buzz around the internet, including shout-outs to Morgan Wallen and other celebrity figures.
McAfee is a graduate from Plum High School, where he was a three sport athlete. He excelled in soccer, volleyball and football before accepting an offer to become the kicker for West Virginia University. Following a four year collegiate career, McAfee converted to punter and became a mainstay on special teams in the NFL. McAfee played all seven years of his career with the Indianapolis Colts before retiring in 2016.
McAfee recently had the talk of March Madness, Jack Gohlke of Oakland University, on his talk show. Gohlke stunned the sports world by making ten threes en route to an upset against the 3 seeded Kentucky Wildcats. Brown named Gohlke "Cracker Of The Day" earlier this year following his performance in the NCAA tournament.
Brown was a member of the Steelers from 2010 to 2018, totaling over 1000 receiving yards in seven of his nine years. He had four seasons with 10 or more receiving touchdowns, including a 2018 campaign where he finished with 15 touchdowns and zero fumbles. Brown then had short stints with the New England Patriots, Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before ending his career in 2021.
