Steelers, Bills Nearing Trade?
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers may have a trade ready to be made during the 2024 NFL Draft. With rumors flying, it appears a move with the Buffalo Bills is now on everyone's radar as we approach the first round.
Bills linebacker Von Miller set off the rumors by posting a clip on his Instagram of Bills general manager Brandon Beane making a trade up during the draft to select a wide receiver.
Then, 93.7 The Fan's Andrew Filliponi revealed that the trade rumor to watch is the Steelers and Bills swapping first-round picks on draft day.
"Rumored Steelers-Bills draft pick trade to keep an eye on: Steelers trade 1st (20th pick) and 4th (98th pick) to Bills for 1st (28th pick) and 2nd (60th pick). Would you make that deal?" Filliponi wrote on X.
The Steelers will likely have options with the 20th pick, making a trade back scenario very real for them. If they believe they have several prospects available when they're on the clock, and they feel comfortable most will be available by pick 28, they could make a move backward to acquire more selections.
Pittsburgh always operates by acknowledging how many players on their draft board are still around and how many are worth moving back to land. From there, they decide whether or not they'll make a move when they're on the clock.
This offseason, if they believe 28 will have plenty of selections, they could make an AFC swap with Buffalo.
