PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have had internal discussions about trading with the Cincinnati Bengals for wide receiver Tee Higgins.

According to 93.7 The Fan's Andrew Filliponi, the Steelers have talked about a potential move to land the Bengals' star wideout. Pittsburgh has reportedly been active in the wide receiver trade market, with names like Brandon Aiyuk and Stefon Diggs being in the conversation to this point.

"Sources: The Steelers have had internal discussions about trading for Bengals WR Tee Higgins. They love the player. But there’s questions about acquisition cost and his next contract cost. Plus there’s the issue of the Bengals trading him in the AFC North," Filliponi wrote on X.

Higgins is set to play under the franchise tag this season but is looking for a long-term deal. Pittsburgh was recently predicted to sign Higgins next offseason for a four-year, $99.7 million deal with nearly $60 million in guaranteed money.

Higgins, 25, is a former second-round pick for the Bengals who has accumulated 3,684 yards and 24 touchdowns in four years in the NFL. Pittsburgh is looking for a veteran wideout alongside George Pickens, and if an in-division trade could take place, maybe Higgins is the player they land on.
