Steelers Host Local QB for Private Workout
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers will host former Gannon quarterback Kory Curtis for a private workout, according to MLFootball. Curtis, a former Ohio State and Gannon passer, has started to gain interest from teams across the NFL, adding the Steelers to a list of visits that included the Las Vegas Raiders and Dallas Cowboys.
Curtis started his college career at Ohio State and then transferred to Bryant. From there, he headed to Erie, Pennsylvania where he threw for 5,134 passing yards and 47 touchdowns at Gannon.
The Steelers already have three quarterbacks in Russell Wilson, Justin Fields and Kyle Allen, but they could look to add a younger option as potential competition. With none of the quarterbacks under contract after 2024, Pittsburgh could have some intention to try and find a backup for the future.
That quarterback could be Curtis. Teams have been intrigued with his strong arm and D1 . If the workout impresses them, it wouldn't be an uncommon move for them to bring in a local player with upside, much like they do with Pitt players on a yearly-basis.
