Former Steelers TE Calls Out Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson
PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Jace Sternberger wasn't pleased with his 2024 season debut of the UFL. During his game, he nearly suffered a big-time injury due to the league's rule of no forward progress, ending the play once a player hits the ground, which wasn't ideal in Sternberger's situation.
Sternberger took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to voice his frustrations about the play, and called out Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in doing so.
"Lmao imagine if I would've got hurt bc this bull****. Cmon now @TheRock," Sternberger tweeted.
The UFL is always looking for ways to be inovative, and rules like their hybrid kickoff have been adopted by the NFL. This time, at least one player wasn't pleased with how different this situation was compared to typical football league.
Sternberger spent the 2021 and 2022 season with the Steelers working on their practice squad. He's also spent time with the Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders, playing 18 games throughout this career, catching 12 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown.
