Justin Fields New Jersey Number Leaked
PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers new quarterback has his number. According to NFL Jersey Numbers X account, Justin Fields is confirmed to be wearing No. 2 when he steps on the field in Pittsburgh this spring, making a change from No. 1 with the Chicago Bears.
Fields replaces Mason Rudolph, who was the latest Steeler to wear No. 2. It's the first time Fields has worn a number outside of No. 1 since entering the spotlight, as he repped it at Georgia and Ohio State and then was awarded the number in Chicago.
Fields hinted at the number during an Instagram post earlier this week.
The Steelers haven't given out the No. 1 in over 20 years and don't seem to be on board with the idea of handing it out anytime soon. The idea behind keeping it off the field is to maintain the motto that it's not about one player, but rather the team.
The Steelers' quarterback room now consists of Fields wearing No. 2, Russell Wilson wearing No. 3 and Kyle Allen wearing No. 4.
