Ex-Steelers' Kenny Pickett Changes Number With Eagles
PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett is making a number change as he heads to the Philadelphia Eagles, according to the X account NFL Jersey Numbers.
Pickett is giving up his noted No. 8 after wearing it throughout his time at the University of Pittsburgh and then in his first two seasons with the Steelers. He'll now wear No. 7 with the Eagles, most-recently known for his representation of Mike Vick in Philadelphia.
Others who wore No. 7 with the Eagles are highlighted by Ron Jaworksi, and include Dick Frahm, Roy Zimmerman, John Huarte, Jim Ward, JohnReaves, Roger Ruzek, Ken O’Brien, Bobby Hoying, Sean Landeta, Jeff Garcia, Michael Vick, Sam Bradford and Nate Sudfeld.
Pickett heads to Philadelphia to backup Jalen Hurts. The Steelers decided to part ways after the third-year quarterback requested a trade. They obliged and traded for Justin Fields from the Chicago Bears the next day.
In two seasons as the Steelers' starter, Pickett played 25 games, going 14-10 as a starter with 4,474 yards and 13 touchdowns to 13 interceptions.
