Steelers Legends Embrace Russell Wilson at Penguins Game
PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson is already feeling the love from some pretty big legends throughout the city. Hanging out at the Penguins game with his wife and music icon, Ciara, the team's new passer met up with some household names.
During the game, a picture emerged of Wilson, Ciara and Steelers' legends Troy Polamalu and Brett Keisel. Pitt star and NFL free agent Damar Hamlin was also in attendance with the historic group.
Wilson has made sure to be as involved as possible with his new team since arriving in Pittsburgh. He's already spent time training with Pat Freiermuth and a few wide receivers, and was in constant communication with T.J. Watt, Cam Heyward and Minkah Fitzpatrick throughout his negotiation process.
Right now, Wilson is the expected starter for the 2024 season, but will have competition against Justin Fields. Pittsburgh is putting the veteran in "pole position" to win the job as they hunt for a Super Bowl with some big-time additions - headlined by their quarterback.
