Steelers HC Mike Tomlin Takes Biggest Risk Yet

The Pittsburgh Steelers head coach is putting his future on the line for a playoff chance.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are acknowledging the troubles that have come with wide receiver George Pickens, and after seemingly hitting a tipping point, head coach Mike Tomlin discussed most of his thoughts on the manner.

"George is a talented guy but he's growing and growing in a lot of ways in regards to football and life," Tomlin said. "We don't run away from that. We run to that organizationally when we draft guys. We're committed to being a component of their growth and development in all areas."

But when it comes to discipline, Tomlin is holding back. He's focused on winning - which he should be - and therefore, not taking the talented wide receiver off the field.

With plenty of debate surrounding him already, though, the Steelers head coach is taking a gamble with his future. No one will overlook the decision he's going to make this weekend, and with only one person who can make sure the decision looks like the right one, it's certainly a risk.
