HOUSTON — The Houston Texans have been busy re-signing a pair of their free agents over the previous 24 hours. The Texans signed kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn to a three-year deal worth $15.9 million Wednesday morning, according to reports from ESPN

Fairbairn will be the fourth highest-paid kicker in the league.

Fairbairn's deal comes after he made 27 of 28 field goal attempts during the 2023 season. He missed nine games due to a pair of injuries, which validated his importance to the franchise.

"I think he’s always been the same kicker; he’s grown, he’s matured and I’m very happy with where he’s at," Special Teams Coordinator Frank Ross said. "It helps a couple of things – your operation has been really good to this point.

"He’s done a great job of mastering that and I’m hoping it continues the way it is, but that smooth approach and just being a veteran now, his confidence is doing him wonders, so really happy with where he’s at and it’s going to pay off for us in the long run.”

Fairbairn began his career as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He has since nailed 87.1 percent of his field goals across 106 games played. He has made 80.0 percent or more of his field goals in seven of his eight years in the league.
