'Brothers': C.J. Stroud & Bryce Young Video From Houston Texans vs. Panthers Going Viral
The losses are painful, as the rebuilding Houston Texans know all too well. It happened again Sunday in NFL Week 8, maybe in a surprise of sorts, as the Carolina Panthers recorded their first win of the season in a 15-13 decision.
But then there can come moments of non-football reality ... and we got one of those, captured on video, when the top two picks in the 2023 NFL Draft met up following the game.
C.J. Stroud was the No. 2 overall pick and Bryce Young the No. 1 overall pick, and they squared off in Charlotte, with Young eventually able to outduel Stroud to help his club to its first win of the "Bryce era.''
And then after the game, the two young men, who have a friendly relationship that dates back to when they were kids, were spotted having a warm exchange.
Young finished 22 of 31 for 235 yards and a touchdown in the win. ... conservative enough numbers to cause the defense of the 3-4 Texans to be frustrated at letting this one get away. Meanwhile, Stroud finished 16 or 24 for 140 yards - modest enough numbers to have the Texans offense wishing it could've done a little more.
“I’m not saying I’m playing terrible,” Stroud said. “But I’m not making the plays I want to make.”
C.J. Stroud Reveals 'Blessed' Relationship With Panthers' Bryce Young
Some painful losses. Some warm greetings. All part of a Young vs. Stroud connection that, given their pedigrees, we might see more of, in even bigger games, for the rest of their careers.
