Despite C.J. Stroud's Second Half Struggles, Houston Texans Top Arizona Cardinals at Home

C.J. Stroud finished the day with three interceptions, but he helped lead the Houston Texans to another win on Sunday.
In this story:

Rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud more than doubled his season's interception total on Sunday afternoon, but the Houston Texans managed to hold on for a 21-16 win over the Arizona Cardinals, making them winners of three straight games.

The 21-16 score was held from the 2:52 mark of the third quarter when quarterback Kyler Murray accounted for a rushing touchdown for Arizona. From that point on, even with another Houston turnover, neither team was able to find points, and the Texans were held scoreless in the second half.

Outside of his three interceptions, Stroud had another big day in the stat book, throwing for 336 yards and two scores, including one to Tank Dell that included an insane catch in the end zone late in the first half. The other passing touchdown for Stroud went to tight end Dalton Schultz in the first half, one of two receptions for him on the day.

In reality, however, it was the Houston defense that helped pull out the win, holding the Cardinals scoreless after a late interception thrown by Stroud in the fourth quarter. As a team, Arizona had just 319 yards of total offense in the loss compared to the Texans' mark of 419.

Houston running back Devin Singletary also had a big day for the Houston offense, putting up 112 rushing yards and a score. He was the only Texan to register a positive rushing yardage total in the win.

With the win, the Texans improve to 6-4 on the season, and they will remain at home next week to host the Jacksonville Jaguars in Houston. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on CBS.
