Dallas Cowboys' Micah Parsons Votes Houston Texans C.J. Stroud as NFL Rookie of the Year
In this story:

FRISCO - Micah Parsons talks a lot. And he watches a lot. And those two habits have now come together as the Dallas Cowboys "Lion-backer'' is touting Houston Texans rookie C.J. Stroud as being honors-worthy.

“C.J. is gonna be the Offensive Rookie of the Year if it’s not Bijan (Robinson of the Atlanta Falcons),'' Parsons said on his podcast. "It’s gonna come down to the wire, but if he stays on this pace, I think C.J. is going to walk away with it.”

And what pace is that? In working to turn around the Texans, who are 2-2, Stroud has completed 94-of-his-151 pass attempts for 1,212 yards and six touchdowns while throwing zero interceptions.

“We need to get on board with CJ Stroud,” Micah said. “(He has) the most pass attempts without an interception to start your career and I want you to realize who C.J Stroud has now beat, OK? ... He just dominated this Steelers defense ... He dominated them.”

Indeed, on Sunday in the Texans’ 30-6 win over the Steelers, Stroud totaled 306 passing yards and two touchdowns while completing 53.3 percent of his passes.

If Stroud maintains this current pace, he’d finish the regular season with 5,151 passing yards, shattering Andrew Luck's rookie passing record set in 2012 with the Colts at 4,374 yards.

The 6-foot-3 QB from Ohio State was named an AFC Players of the Month in September. ... and is aware that he's a culture-changer.

“I’ve been thinking about this for a long time,” Stroud said after the win over Pittsburgh. “Y’all (Texans fans) deserve to feel special. Y’all deserve to root the Texans on.''

Micah Parsons is rooting. “C.J. Stroud is the real deal,'' Micah said. “We cannot let C.J. go unknown!''
