'Is That Versace?' Dameon Pierce Interviews C.J. Stroud
NFL players are so used to taking difficult questions from members of the media that sometimes it makes questions from their teammates that much easier to answer.
Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce took the microphone at the team's Season Premiere charity event at NRG Stadium Thursday and had some pressing questions for new Week 1 starting quarterback C.J. Stroud.
Pierce started Stroud off with a softball question.
"Is that Versace?" Pierce asked about Stroud's all-black suit he was wearing.
"No, it's custom," Stroud said.
The two laughed then Pierce started grilling Stroud. Not really, but he asked him about what he's looking forward to this season.
"You had a great camp," Pierce said. "You're coming in from college to the NFL. I know it can be a leap, especially at your position, understanding a lot of things, understanding a lot of the moving parts of the offense. But, with all that aside, what are you most excited about this upcoming season and what are you ready to do?"
Stroud started his answer by flattering Pierce before getting philosophical.
"Most thing I'm probably excited about is playing next to my guy D.P., all my teammates," Stroud said. "That's the cool thing about football. You get to play around dudes from different parts of the world, and you all come together and play on one team to have one common goal."
Pierce, according to his LinkedIn account, studied sociology at Florida, but he might want to consider broadcasting after his playing career is finished.
