Bobby Slowik Leaving Texans For Falcons? Atlanta Requests Second Interview
After an incredibly successful first season as an offensive coordinator for the Houston Texans, Bobby Slowik is drawing interest as a first-time head coach.
Slowik has scheduled a second interview - this time in person - with the Atlanta Falcons for Thursday for their vacancy. Slowik had a second interview with the Commanders - also in person - with the Washington Commanders on Tuesday.
Slowik also has had interest from the Panthers and Seahawks per NFL Media's Tom Pelissero.
In his first year as a coordinator and play caller, the 36-year-old's offense ranked No. 12 in total yards and No. 13 in points scored. Slowik also seemed to help groom rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud - who completed 64 percent of his passes for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns and five interceptions - who is expected to win the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year award this season.
Re-Signing Jonathan Greenard Should be a Top Priority for Texans
Before joining the Texans in 2023, Slowik served under head coach Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco as the offensive passing game coordinator in 2022, the offensive passing game specialist in 2021, and an offensive assistant from 2019 to 2020.
Previously, Slowik worked on the Washington staff alongside Shanahan under Shanahan's father, Mike from 2011-2013.
