Dalton Schultz Recalls Highlight Reel Catch vs. Titans
Tight end Dalton Schultz played a role in helping the Houston Texans take a 19-16 overtime victory against the Tennessee Titans Sunday afternoon. He finished the game with 58 yards on four receptions, but Schultz's final catch may have saved the game at Nissan Stadium.
On a critical drive late in the fourth quarter, backup quarterback Case Keenum connected with Schultz for a 15-yard pass. But to finish the play, Schultz snagged the ball from Titans' defensive back Elijah Molden, who came close to completing an interception.
Schultz's performance against the Titans marked his return after missing the previous two games due to a hamstring injury.
"I was just trying to show up for Case, get in his vision so he can see me," Schultz said. "He lofted the ball up and trusted me to make a play. But watching the clip back, I don't know how it all shook out. I knew I caught it because I had it in my hands the whole time. It was a contested catch."
"Those plays are just a combination of a lot of work, training and trust. Case trusted me to make the play, and I was able to do that."
Schultz's catch set up a three-yard touchdown pass between Keenum and wide receiver Noah Brown a few plays later, which tied the game at 16.

But more importantly, his catch saved Keenum from committing his second interception of the game. Keenum's lone interception came early in the first quarter as the result of a pick-six thrown to Molden.
Keenum, who started in place of C.J. Stroud due to a concussion, recorded his first victory as the Texans' starting quarterback since December 2014. He finished the game completing 23 out of his 36 attempts for 229 yards and one touchdown.
